Sunlovers Race Day 15th November 2008

Bouquets by the hundreds to Terry, Val, Sue,
A happy crowd of 50 people, the largest FCU has
seen. Even though we have had some wonderful events previously,
this day was one of the funniest we can remember.
The names of the horses were hilarious and saw that
everyone started the day’s events in the right mood. Horse races
such as you would never see on a race track, many funny touches such as vet
checking, taking the “horses” for a quick wade in the pool and parading before
the “judges” kept members and visitors laughing all the way.
The “Vet” Heather did her job well, making sure no horse got away with a
thing, keeping every horse and its rider on the straight and narrow. She
was surely one of the stars of the show!
Just as we were trying to recover from the effects of all
this fun, even more was in store with the most unique fashions on the field you
would ever see anywhere. Outfits defied imagination as
members could hardly believe what came out of those plastic bags Sue was
handing around with a big smile on her face!
We were all delighted with the scrumptious
Chicken-and-Champagne lunch, a combined effort of Sunlovers
Retreat and visitors.
As the afternoon drew to a close we were further
entertained, during the prize-giving, by Terry, who gave a very funny account
of the day’s proceedings whilst presenting the race winners and the fashion
leaders of the day with their prizes.
In the evening a lively game of trivia, organised extremely
well by Terry & Val, kept everyone busy exercising their brains. We
think most of us gained some extra knowledge as a result and certainly had a
lot of fun in the process.
May we have many more happy years at Sunlovers
Retreat to look back on in the future and
remember with joy and laughter.
Thanks to Sue and
Thank you all for the support you have given us by reading
our newsletters. We hope you have enjoyed them. They have been our very
great pleasure to write.
Your friendly editors, Bob & Joyce.

"The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the
presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other."
